Can you imagine driving your truck for just 500 miles per year?

Very, very nice Mach428!!!

I bought a '95 F150 a few years ago. Original owner. Documented 3K miles a year. Just turned 60K miles. Stored winters. Kills me to daily drive it, but I like it too much not to.

I have 39,820 miles on my original paint 1973 F-350 Custom trim package. Mach428 has your engine been repainted or clear coated? My original Ford blue engine is not as glossy.

Headlamp doors are 1969 Ranger, but if this is a Ranger (don't see any Ranger nameplates on the quarter panels), the grille emblem is missing.

Hood nose moulding wasn't available until 1970.

F-150Lariat, sweet truck. Love the color too. That's a keeper!!!!

I restored my truck 29 years ago, including the engine paint. I took a Ford corporate blue rattle can cap to an automotive paint store and they matched it with acrylic enamel. I mixed reducer and added hardener for the extra shine. The engine was out of the truck during my resto (never disassembled) so I cleaned it; wiped it down with Prepsol, lightly primed, and sorayed 3 coats of the acrylic enamel through my spray gun. After 29 years, it still looks as good as the day I painted it, except for the exhaust manifold flanges. All FE engines burn the paint off in that area.

Bill, I painted the headlight doors satin black and added the hood lip molding. Why? BECAUSE I LIKED IT THAT WAY

Thanks i appreciate it! here is a photo of my engine when i purchase the truck 4 years ago. All i have done is replace the original Ford plastic gear timing chain with a Cloyes true roller. The original still looked brand new, but did have play in it.

Nothing wrong with that...
there are people that see a pic like that with the low mileage noted, however, and run with the idea that everything's original. That's where some of Bill's notes are very useful, to help identify what is original.
Beautiful '69; love that mustang rally pac

Too bad someone stuck those aftermarket lights on top (edit: of the '67); the original dietz style looks much better. and whoever touched up the engine compartment sure didn't do it any favors...

Should look like this untouched survivor, with glossy firewall, semi-gloss inner fenders and gray hinges. Bolts/nuts on firewall should be unpainted.

I complimented you on your truck and I'm rude? Whatever...
This site contains lots of opinions and because of the medium, it can be hard to tell how to read them sometimes. Mostly, they're not meant in an offensive way but if you're not a fan of opinions being expressed, maybe this isn't the site for you. Thanks for sharing pics of your truck though.
That '67 is a gorgeous truck but the engine bay was being described as 'untouched'. We're all here because we're interested in these trucks and when something is misrepresented, correct information should be available.

First off, I'll decide what is and isn't for me. Second, yes you did compliment and then the very next post you called my lights hideous. Read your post!!

i see things all the time that is not my taste but out of shear courtesy, I do not insult or criticize like you did.

Heh, to be honest, I didn't even see the lights on your truck. I was actually talking in my second post about the '67 roof lights and engine bay; guess I could have been more concise.
Even though the painted headlight doors and hood chrome wouldn't be my choice of additions to a pre-seventy truck, I'm not finding anything to criticize on your truck. Nice to see that the dash pad survived. Seems the colored survivors are a lot scarcer than the black dash pads. Wonder if it's something in the dye that makes them susceptible to drying out faster.
