Yeah and prices of engines since then have gone up... When I was looking around a reman with PI heads was around $3500 from FORD. This is a new longblock, but no timeserts in the heads to prevent plugs from spitting in the future.

It's gonna cost me around $2200 to install new heads with inserts, timing chain, tensioners, gaskets, new power steering pump and starter. I will have around 3k total with headers.

Not a cheap endeavor.

 

A lot less than $65K. I'm thinking you got a pretty good deal.

 

Yeah, that was my thinking... The price of a new truck (3v) vs buying headers/tune and an engine... I just couldn't make the numbers work, as much as I want a new truck. Im guessing I will have close to 10k into this truck, including the purchase price. Not bad at all.
