Need Help Finding SYNC 3 Update Files

Greetings! I have an issue that I hope someone on here can help me resolve. We just purchased a 2017 F-250 Platinum Diesel (with Sync 3 / Navigation). Unfortunately, it turns out the SYNC APIM was bad. I found a replacement unit on eBay (from Sweden Car Performance) and they programmed it for my VIN and I received it and installed it and it works like a charm! New APIM doesn't have any of the locking up / lagging issues that the old one did. The only issue now is that the APIM is one version behind and I can't update it because the Ford servers think it's up to date because the previous (bad) APIM was up to date. Therefore, I cannot download the files from the web site to update the replacement APIM nor auto-update, again because Ford thinks it's up to date. I contacted Ford Sync support, and they were of no help- they said they can't reset it on Ford's side.

The old (defective) APIM was running SYNC 3 Software Version 3.0 Build 18093_PRODUCT
The new (replacement) APIM is running SYNC 3 Software Version 3.0 Build 17276_PRODUCT

I need the SYNC 3 update files (with Navigation) to go from the old version to the new one. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

Are the files possibly still on your PC from when you updated the old APIM?

Thanks for your reply, but I actually updated the old one via WiFi, so no. I heard back from the company where I purchased the replacement APIM and they are uploading the update files for me, so - fingers crossed - they will do the trick.

One would think that they would have upgraded it to the latest SYNC 3 version before sending it back to you.
Let us know what happens.

Sweden Car Performance sent me the files to update it via USB and that worked like a charm! They programmed the APIM for our VIN and ultimate trailer camera package (360 cameras). So far everything is working great, I just wanted to make sure the firmware on the APIM was up to date so it matched Ford's database for future updates, which it now does, no thanks to Ford.

I purchased a new 2016 F250 that had a Mytouch in it and had the dealer upgrade it to a Sync unit. My problem is now that Ford nor the Sync team will provide an update for the unit since it wasn't factory installed..
does anyone have access to the latest file or know a reputable website I can download the latest update?

Thanks,

I'd wait. 18093 has caused problems for many of us. I wish I'd never done the update. I see no improvements, only a problem. Most notably it won't return to whatever you were last using when you shut the truck down. For example I listen to satellite radio most of the time. If the head unit is on when I shut the truck down, the radio will be on some random FM or AM station. Ford has known about this for quite some time and there doesn't seem to a fix in sight. At least nothing that I've heard of yet.
If you insist on updating, I found a 3rd party website that was much faster and reliable than Ford. https://www.4dtech.com/software-updates/

Which version are you currently running?
Have you registered your vehicle on the Owner.Ford website?
If and when updates are available, this website will let you know.

Thanks,
Hmmmmm, you had your dealer upgrade your new 2016 F250 from MFT to SYNC 3?
Now that’s definitely a first.
Well, if your dealer did said swap for you, they should also be able to do any and all SYNC 3 updates as well.
