remote start and climate control help

Ok I have a 2019 f350 lariat and have the the climate control set to AUTO under remote start menu on dash screen. Having set to auto, and having all the climate control and heated seats and steering turned off from when i turned off engine last ...when i remote start my truck next morning during cold mornings, the only thing that kicks on is the warm defrost fan, no heated seat or heated steering wheel... Now when I keep heated seat on and heated steering wheel on at night before i turn off the engine and do a remote start in morning still with set to AUTO, everything will turn on. I remember on my 2017 f250 that even if i have heated seats/steering wheel turned off the night before it would kick on during a cold morning remote start with climate control set to AUTO under remote start. Does this sound right ..did they change something on the 2019s?

My 2018 won’t automatically turn on my heated passenger seat because my passenger always turns it off during the day. If I remember to turn it on before I shut down the truck, it will automatically come on. I have climate control and seats set to automatic mode with command start operation. I’m pretty sure that if you have the seats off when you shut your truck off, they will not automatically come on with the command start. My heated steering wheel is the only exception. It always turns on.

The temperature has to reach a certain temp before the auto seats and steering wheel come on. My garage is insulated so when i park my 2018 inside the auto temp function doesn't work. If i park it outside and the temp goes below 32 then the auto temp kicks in. i don't have to turn on the heated seats before turning off the vehicle.

Isn't the temp set to 72...anything below or above will turn on heat or cold...it's been cold in the mornings..I know it's well below 72

Yeah, it’s 32 f that is the change point for automatic settings. I too park in the garage at home, so I changed my remote start settings to last setting and leave the seat heaters on first stage heating. Otherwise if it’s not that cold outside, it’s too warm in t he garage and the seats are on cool in the am when I start with the remote. It would be nice to change this set point in Forscan to 70 or 68 f such that cooling would only come on when the seats are warm from the sun.

trying to clarify here, in my remote start settings I have 3 choices:

climate control (2 settings) auto or last setting
front seats & wheel (2 settings) auto or off
duration 5, 10, 15 or something like that (self-explanatory)

I have it set to climate control last setting and front seats and wheel auto. my understanding is that the seats and wheel will come on once it is a certain temperature outside and the climate control will come on to whatever I left it when I turned the truck off. it was 30 degrees today when I remote started my truck (which was outside) with the app and the seats and wheel did not come on. I looked in the manual and it is a little unclear to me and I see nothing on the outside temperature at which the heated or cooled seats turn on.

if you climate control is set to auto, then the heated seat and steering wheel should have come on, but the icons on the sync screen won't come on with remote start. If you turn on the heated seat and steering wheel with sync, then they will come on when you manually start the truck the next time and they will show up on sync.

so after I remote start and get in the truck, after I push the push button start so I can drive, I have to reactivate the heated seats or steering wheel by pressing the buttons to keep them on?

but there are 2 different settings on my truck, 1 for the seats and 1 for the climate and they have totally different options, it seems to me they are independent.

I am using auto for the seats and steering wheel, as well as auto for climate control. When it’s cold enough, below 32 f ambient, then everything comes on as it should on remote start. However, once should season of DPF all or spring, I change to off DPF or climate, and last setting for seats. This way by last setting of the seat heater or cooler is what it does. I don’t want so much heat as cooled seats. I leave climate control on 70 or 21 C all year around PVD for this reason. Yes I want it warmed up in the really cold but I don’t want it uncomfortably warm once driving.
