So today was fun. I am going super slow with my build because, well, 3 year olds and trucks are both expensive! So I took the carb off today to swap for a new one and started vacuuming off all the dirt and nastiness from the intake manifold and I didn’t like at all how how bad it was. I got it in my head I should just rip the whole thing apart and soak everything thing in white vinegar for a few days to try and know down some of the rust that’s built up from years of sitting. When I finally got to where I could pull it out, I yanked, got it on its way out, smacked my head into the hood latch, and the manifold kept coming right at my face. Needless to say that’s where the “fun” of today comes in! So I started looking for an aluminum intake and 4bbl set up but realized that apparently Weiand stopped making the 360 match 7282 and Edelbrock wants way too much money for just a basic lighter intake. My question here is, does anyone know of another make that will fit and not cost me an arm and a leg?! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Nope those are the options unfortunately. The edelbrock is a joke at over 400.00. Wish someone else would make one summit racing had one they were going to do under their house brand but there was not enough demand.
I feel your pain. I just pulled my weiand 7282 today. Ive had low vacuum pressure for a while on my 390 and just getting around to fixing it. I thought about swapping over to the edelbrock 2105 but as you said they are very proud of it at $400. Got everything all cleaned up today and going to get back together in the morning.
Check on evil-bay, offer-up, and craigslist.even facebook. Sometimes junkyards. Make sure that you get some type of warranty that if it doesn't work (cracked, warped ect.) you can take it back.
Man I was really hoping for some hidden secret! Haha. I found a 7282 on Facebook but the guy is insane and wants $300 for it! Looks like I’m back to cleaning the original one and hoping I never have to take it back out! Thanks for everyone so far trying to help me out.
I got that all put back together today. Going to let set til tomorrow then get coolant back in it. Get the timing straightened out and dial the carb in. Hopefully all is good.
How to remove and replace the 85 lb FE manifold and carburetor. Drill a 5 or 6' long 3/4" galvanized pipe in the center, bolt it to the air cleaner stud after making sure it's in the carburetor fully. Have your buddy on the other side of the truck and both lift at the same time.
Or do like I did back in my teens....Climb under the hood, straddle the engine, carefully work fingers under front and back of intake, using a long screwdriver as a pry bar, lift intake off and hope you don't drop it on yourself or damage the radiator as you climb back out from under the hood. That was then. These days the carb would be too heavy for me to lift.

I'm right there with ya. The thought of climbing up there is enough to say "Let's think about this."
