Steering columns EXPENSIVE
Trying to resto my '66 f100. Original steering column remakes are so expensive. IDIDIT, through Summit, are $750. Wow!! I want a 28" paintable column, automatic. Any thoughts? Would do a used one if it's in good shape..

I have a '67 Eldorado tilt&telescope column without ignition lock I plan to use eventually. I don't know the length offhand. You might want to consider the option of a used luxury car column that was built well and already has the horn and turn-signal wiring. They should be in the two-figure price range, or a little more, and will be available in many different lengths.

Any project that has the label "Resto" in it will likely exceed it's final value even if you do all your own work. You really have to want the finished project to justify the cost. I keep myself busy during the winters getting neglected vehicles back on the road. Last 4yrs have been 66 F250 CC CS 410 4sp, 66 F100 CC CS 351w 4sp and 65 F250 CC CS Ranger 352 COM. I try to stay away from body work and rusted projects due to the time involved. I guess what I'm getting at is parts are parts you either need or want them or you don't.
