5.4L 3 valve phaser delete

5.4L 3 valve phaser delete
Has anyone done this phaser delete ? I am considering doing this during my current engine swap and any input on this would be great. I know if the phasers are locked , you have to update the ECU to remove the VCT from it. Again any input would be welcome.

My son has a 2006 Expedition. AT 100K miles it developed a problem and locked up, ruined a couple valves, cam chains, etc.. He had the motor rebuilt and put the delete kit in it. Got it back and ran fine. The rebuilder told him to purchase the software patch to get the idiot light on the dash turned off....... That was a year ago and 15K miles since.. Have not heard of any problem.
