Mine is a 2000 xlt and I don't see anything in that location to plug too or a plug. Does your vacuum pump have a connector plugged to it?
Yes the vacuum pump has the connector plugged in and the vacuum lines hooked up, the whole unit looks fine. My wifes 00 Ex 7.3 doesn't have this connector either.
Aaahhh, now I get it. I take back everything I've said so far.
Unfortunately I am at work and can't trace anything out but the line seems to go down somewhere between the battery and vacuum reservoir...
That's the connector alright, but mine looks a bit different. Mine is reversed from that picture, where the five wires coming off are facing toward the battery instead, and there is no line coming from it, only the one green chewed up wire facing the cab.
If I can find the name of that connector and find out what it's purpose is, I can hopefully just replace the part that unplugs and call it a simple fix.

There was an electrical revision/change that started with the 2002 trucks, so even though we have the same functions the 99-01 trucks are wired a bit different than the 02-04 trucks.
I found a thread where the OP had the same issue, but it wasn't identified what the connector was called, so I thought I'd post it up here in case anyone wanted to read the first couple of posts and hopefully be able to help. Thanks. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post18502513
I am not able to find that connection in my truck. Here is a connector catalog that is supposed to have all connectors listed in it (if this works).
Yeah I guess some have this and some don't, I was told it is for connecting a dual alternator setup. Doesn't look like the link for the connector catalog came through.

No it didn't and I tried it several times. If you PM me your email address I can email it to you.
