I’d have to disagree with a few others here and recommend only Toyo or Nitto. The last two sets of BFG AT I’ve ran were hard to balance and ended up riding like absolute garbage (out of round). Since then, I’ve ran nitto ridge grappler, trail grappler mt, Toyo MT and Toyo AT2. All four balanced well and rode very smooth without vibrations....the Toyo MT and Nitto trail grappler were obviously louder than any of the others by far but still tracked straight and smooth at all times at speed.
One of my relatives tows heavy 4 of 5 days per week in his ccsb duramax (2016 model) and started out with the BFG AT, which wore uneven and were replaced at around 25k. Since then he has been running Nitto Ridge Grapplers and couldn’t be happier.
So, for ******s and giggles today, I went by 3 tire shops all within a mile of each other. All sold all of the brands mentioned. Dealer 1 said "Your only choice is the Terra Grappler. The Ridge Grappler is crap and wears out fast. Don't consider the Toyo, and the AT2 is horrible with getting balanced properly." Dealer 2 said "Not even a question. Get the BFG KO2. The others will all ride horribly and wear out in 25k miles". Dealer 3 said " Toyo is crap. BFG rides rough and wears out fast. The Terra Grappler is just like the KO2 and won't last you long. The only tire for your truck is the Ridge Grappler. There's a reason you see them on every truck on the road.". So, 3 dealers, and 3 absolutely different answers. I drove away wanting to bang my head into a wall....lol.
I know all answers are subjective. But, answers so conflicting are just opinions and have no basis on fact. I just don't want to regret a $1200 purchase. Based sheerly on looks, I like the Ridge Grapplers, BG KO2's, Open Country AT2's and the Terra Grapplers, in that order. But, looks don't matter when it comes to ride comfort and longevity. If I buy a set of tires and they are rough riding, or wear out in 20,000 miles, I'll be really unhappy. Thanks for all the replies. Just wish I could get a singular, absolute, straight answer from a tire store, instead of what I got today.
might take a look at duratracs. I was considering ridge grapplers but ended up going with duratracs on my f250 I just ordered. I got 50k out of my last set on my 2500 cummins. great snow tire and I've found them good in the rain. had original BFG KOs and they handled like crap in rain.

I will admit, BFG did have problems at one time but that has been resolved. I think that’s where all the negative comments are coming from. I would be willing to bet all the negative comments come from BFG tires several years ago and not from recent experience. My experience was recent for what’s its worth.
Probably the best tire for the price is the Falken Wildpeak. Only problem is limited sizes. I bought a set for my grandson's 07 Pathfinder and they've been holding up great.

as as I stated earlier I have AT2’s, terra grapplers and just sold a truck with k02s.
If you take take care of them and rotatebalance/align you will be fine. Get what you like and looks good
If you tow heavy or have a heavy foot off the line/ drive on gravel roads you will probably get 20k or a little more no matter what you get unless it’s a towing specific onroad tire. Diesels torque can really eat into the longivity of a tire.
I personally like my terra grapplers because it’s a tad bit more refined look so if the truck is muddy - it’s a good looking dirty/off road tire/ if it’s clean and you want it to look a bit more stock and non off roadish but have more character then stock then terras do the trick
if you strictly want it habe an aggressive looking truck then I think the terras are a bit too bland.
Seems you really want the ridge grapplers - I personally have never had them but look great and get good reviews from people here so you will be fine
I'm in the same boat as you Although I still have tread on my current tires, I am trying to get a head start on my tire choice for spring.
I am leaning toward Ridge Grappler, Durateac and General Grabber ATx as my choices. I am also bouncing around Toyo RT and Cooper ST Maxx but they are much more expensive
The more reviews I read the more I want to throw my hands up and bang my head into the wall
I guess real world experience is better than paid reviews.
As for BFG KO2. I had them on a 2013 Ram Cummins and only managed 40,000 miles out of them They always had a slight vibration but overall were decent tires. Just not what I'm wanting this round.
And to make it worse, I keep seeing the Ridge Grapplers on most every truck on the road. Those are some seriously good looking tires.
Toyo makes Nitto tires so both are good brands. I've had both brands on F150's and was pleased with both. Nitto Terragrapplers and Toyo AT's and AT2's. Also had Toyo MT's and BFG TA/KO's. Never had any problems with any of these tires and I would put 25K miles a year on them.
