Truck is unloaded and the RGs ride fine. Not as compliant as the Michelins in curves is the only thing I noticed. MPG has dropped but I really dont have a baseline as this is all city driving and a few hops on the freeway to cut across downtown Houston. But that is expected as these weigh 10lbs more and more ‘nobby’. The Michelins were primarily highway miles from picking the truck up.

As far as how much for the Michelins asked above. $750 would be the price, that is a little more than 1/2 new price and I would keep them to throw back on the truck when I sell it but I’m moving. So I feel that is pretty fair.

If your truck is stock 5200 GAWR I would highly suggest the RG in 285 as its only 4 lbs heavier than stock and only .3 tenths of an inch shorter and skinnier than the 295s I have (over sized for a 285). I would also look at the 285 Michelin Defender as its the same weight as the stock Michelin AT and 1/2 inch wider and taller.

As far as comparer to the Bfg KO2 on my old F250 the RG is quieter by a noticeable amount.

thanks for the reply. I'm heavily leaning toward the RG's. How do they handle in the rain and on wet asphalt compared to the stock tires?

A tire that gets overlooked a lot and may depend on where one lives. The wild country xtx is very popular around us. I have ran them, my father has ran them for years and still does. It is a 3peak snowflake tire. Has lots of siping. Maybe give them a look. When I replace my tires I will most likely be going to the Falken wild peak or the new Dick Cepek trail country exp. They have a more aggressive look than the wild country. The new exp reminds me of the F-C II they used to make and I loved those tires on my old 77.

And I like that the trail country exp comes in 295/70/18.

Well, after a few weeks of obsessing over a set of tires, I ordered the Ridge Grappler in 35x11.5x20 today. Wanted to stick with the 11.5 instead of 12.5 to reduce hydroplaning and wet driving mannerisms. They are being put on tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice and sorry for all the repetitive questions. Next on the agenda is a small 1.5-2" level. Want to see the truck with new tires without the level first, though.
