Ive got the P1271, P1272, and P1277 codes after doing an injector buzz test. This is in my 1997 7.3 f350. I saw some threads on these but couldnt quite understand the troubleshooting methods. Could anyone help me out?
How did the buzz test sound? They could be old codes stored, you need to clear them to be sure.
The codes simply mean the IDM reported a problem to the PCM at some time. High side is the middle wire on valve cover harness (the high voltage). The IDM will pulse each injector (low side), one each to the middle wire to fire them. If the IDM detects a high resistance on the operation it will throw those codes. I read your original post and sounds like a bad connection somewhere as different driving conditions seem to correct the issue. Don't know what brand parts you used but OEM are preferred when dealing at the valve cover areas.

I used the Dorman valve cover gasket kit with pigtails, and oem glow plugs (not that that matters). But yeah you could tell once it got to 1, 2, and 7 on the test they were quieter. I did find a page that tells you the 3 ways to test the IDM so ill have to try that. I thibk youre right. And i have played with the connections on the valve covers themselves and into the injectors and nothing seemed off or looked visually wrong.
