Was just wondering, if a 2015 601A King Ranch was originally put out with the sound design windshield.
My dealership put a new windshield in it prior to me even considering it to own. Was wondering if the "cheaped out" on the replacement. (There's nothing on the window sticker, that I got when I bought it).
My 2016 came with the sound screen windshield, then it caught a rock and cracked right up my line of sight. (like within 5 seconds) I finally replace it and it wasn't the OEM sound screen windshield. I honestly can't tell a difference at all. It's been over a year. No problems with any system, or the hands free sync 3, or phone calls or texts. No extra road noise. There are 3 different aftermarket windscreens now and the only thing mine doesn't have is the F150 logo in the center top.

I am thinking of going with the aftermarket windshield did you notice if there was any difference on how well it sits in place. That was the only issue I heard was it sounded like its not a perfect fit like the OEM versions.

Unless you’re doing it yourself or you’re trying to save money, why are you leaning towards a “non” OEM windshield.
The latter part of your reply is reason enough to go with an OEM windshield.
I am only thinking of trying to save money since they sand the roads here a lot its bound to get chipped or cracked again. If it was more reasonably priced I could swap it out every couple of years.
You might consider zero-deductible glass coverage as part of your comprehensive coverage. If you will require multiple windshield replacements, it will be worth the cost. And, it also covers your headlights, fog lights, and mirrors. Don't leave home without it.
Unfortunately my insurance does not offer windshield replacement. They do provide a free service to have chips repaired thru safelite which does help. I will end up just buying the OEM version since I like the Ford logo on it anyway and hope it last.

I think the same manufacturer that makes Ford OEM glass also puts out two different versions of glass for the F150. Mine is just like factory without the lettering above the rear view, instead of F150 it is just the dot matrix. I have no leaks and it installed without an issue and fit is the same. The glass place said it was the same except cheaper and what people like me use when paying out of pocket. No issues so far and I haven't noticed any extra sound or road noise. Remember the OEM sound screen windshield is overall the thinnest glass and the aftermarket glass doesn't have to follow the same weight restrictions so its a little heavier / thicker.
To each his own on replacement windshields, I don't think you can go wrong either way, if your coverage allows zero deductible then go OEM. I'm just glad I didn't do the front window tint and have to replace the glass. The near clear front wind screen tint with the UVA/UVB blockers is more than the windshield.

Good to know that makes me feel better if I end up going with an aftermarket windshield. I also did not realize they still had the dot-matrix at the top without the logo which works just as well for me. Thanks for the info.
Ford Soundscreen is thinner with different internal "plastic" A normal aftermarket windshield will be thicker than OEM, but a standard thickness. You will likely not notice any difference in sound whatsoever.
