What I find interesting is the manual says don’t change oil until the monitor says change it. At the current rate, I’ll hit 11k before it says a change is due. I don’t run mine that far between oil changes. I only go to 3,500. If I ran it to the trucks message telling me to change the oil, there would be nothing on the dipstick. How many people do you know that check oil between changes? That’s what I thought.
Keep reading in your manual… It says to not exceed 10,000 miles or one year regardless of the OLM.
too bad it doesnt say add oil like my acura which has an oil consumption problem. sounds like your getting rid of your 150. regardless 3500 is too soon especially when your adding fresh new oil. 5k minimum for me on dino
does the manual have a max interval no matter what the computer says? ive noticed on a friends 2012 ford edge 3.5l the computer is a fixed 10k and a 2010 escape 4 cyc its a fixed 7.5k
tom you beat me to it. if your using synthetic and if your were to add 5 qts of oil in that time i would not hesitate to change oil at 10k
I know this is an older thread, but a 11000 mile update. The transmission has learned me or I have learned it, shifts really smooth now. The oil consumption went completely away around 8-9000 miles. The hashy injector noise is much better with higher octane gas. Over all, I am well satisfied with the whole vehicle. No complaints
