the 6.2 was an option for at least one year correct? are they going to bring it back to compete against the chevy 6.2?
The 6.2 could be found in the 2011-2014 model years in specific trim levels. Was dropped from the lineup in 2015 and i doubt we will see it brought back to the 1/2 ton market.

I highly doubt is since the super duty is dropping it for the new 7.3 gas hog next year
To top it off the 5.0 gets almost twice the milage and almost the same power
6.2 will be base engine in SD pickups, 7.3 optional.
chevys 6.2 is 420/460. i see were the 3.5 375/470 has more torque while the 5.0 396/400 practically has the same output of the SD 6.2 385/430. maybe when the 150s get updated they will update the engine numbers or make the 3.5 HO 450/510 available across the board and put the godzilla in the raptor
Have you seen any threads on here lately regarding problems with the 6 speed? Neither have I, but a lot of guys seem to be having problems with the 10 speed. I know it's new and all that but "if it ain't broke don't fix it" in my opinion....

Yup. From everything I've seen and read about the 10 speed I sure am glad I have the good ol' 6 speed. 68K + miles and the only hiccup this truck has produced was a faulty throttle body that had to be replaced at 8K miles.
Well to add some clarity if you are looking for 2016 to 2018 F150 trucks there is another engine and that is the 3.5 NA. The 3.3 debuted in 2018. The price for the used 3.3 trucks you posted is high. More realistic below 25k on a 18 and I wouldn't go higher. Quick search shows a plethora of used previous rental trucks with the 3.3 and 4x4 in a xlt package on car guru's in the 22-25k range.
All engines in 2018 got a refresh (3.5 EcoBoost 2017) and they all have direct injection with low pressure port injection. The 5.0 also got a good refresher with plasma cylinder liners. Me personally I like the 6R80 over the 10R80 transmission as it was less clunky and more predictable.
I have the 10 speed behind the 5.0. It is not as smooth as older transmissions. There are so many gears it seems it is always changing. It also reminds me of tow/haul mode in my old f250. As you slow down it shifts down instead of coasting in gear. My F250 had a good driveline clunk from day one till I traded it with 230000 miles. I test drove Chevy and Dodge before I bought and if you think they are different, your kidding yourself. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the 2018 Chevy/GMC was developed in conjunction with Ford
There’s no reason to guess, the information is commonly available. Dodge and Ram use a licensed version of a ZF design that bears no resemblance to the joint venture that Ford and General Motors use.
Yes the Dodge was an 8 speed. When I test drove the Dodge, (which I almost went to the darkside and bought) I asked the salesman to have the tranny checked as it shifted just as if it were in a tow/haul mode. Anyhow, they pronounced it normal.

Ford and GM collaborated on the Ford 10R80/GM 10L80, with Ford leading the design. They aren't the exact same thing (like you can't yank one from a Chevy and install it in a Ford), but share the same core design.
