4.6 2V alternative oil pressure access point?
I just took over the wifes 2004 explorer. At 185,000 miles and just having replced timing chain guides, i thought a real oil pressure gauge might be a good idea.
Is there a place on the block to add it besides the existing oil pressure sensore switch?
I read something on a Mustang forum about a plug near the head but there was no followup as to how it worked and whether it would be accurate.

While the stock oil pressure sending unit is a bit inconvenient and awkward to work around its really the best location to monitor what the oil pump is producing. On my '05 E350 w/5.4 this is what I did to maintain the OEM sending unit and allow connection of an Accusump pre-oiler system:
Obtaining OP from any other port won't register the same pressure, some of the readings could be misinterpreted as problematic when in fact they're accurate with regards to their location in the oil circulating system.
