4.6 2V alternative oil pressure access point?
I just took over the wifes 2004 explorer. At 185,000 miles and just having replced timing chain guides, i thought a real oil pressure gauge might be a good idea.
Is there a place on the block to add it besides the existing oil pressure sensore switch? I read something on a Mustang forum about a plug near the head but there was no followup as to how it worked and whether it would be accurate. |
While the stock oil pressure sending unit is a bit inconvenient and awkward to work around its really the best location to monitor what the oil pump is producing. On my '05 E350 w/5.4 this is what I did to maintain the OEM sending unit and allow connection of an Accusump pre-oiler system:
