Bent Push Rods
I have a 1999 F250 7.3 Powerstroke. It is bending intake pushrods on 3 cylinders. I have removed the heads and checked for stuck valves or bent valves. Nothing wrong there. My thought is that the valve lifters must be sticking and causing the pushrods to bend. All the rest of the valve train is in good shape. Am I going down the right path and is there some way to test the lifters? I don't think you are supposed to be able to push them down if they are working correctly but how do you test if they are stuck at the top of their travel? The engine is out of the truck at the moment.
