Hood Adjustment

I think this is a fairly common issue so I thought I would ask for some pro tips.

How do I adjust my 54 hood so that it closes and seals against the cowl without having to push each rear corner down?

Here is one of the bullet points in the post:
First look in my "extras gallery" for the hinge pictures, remove the springs and be sure the hidden hinge pivot shown is not frozen and working freely. Even new hinges can have this pivot tight or paint frozen, and if tight the hood will never close properly!

I was lucky enough to have a local body shop with an 80 year old owner that knew what he was doing as far as adjustments. Three hours and $125 later- mine shuts just fine. Any of those guys near you? :-)
