Rear Brake Shoes

Rear Brake Shoes
I have a '69 F100 and I ordered brake shoes for the rear wheels from Dennis Carpenter.
When I took the hub off the replace the old shoes, I found that the new pads were much too wide. See picture.
When I double checked the part number in the Dennis Carpenter catalog and on their website, it matched the part number on the box the shoes came in.
I did not measure the width of the shoes on my truck, but I did measure the width of the new shoes. They were 3" wide.If I'd put those on my truck, the hub would not go back on.
Can anyone tell me the correct width of the rear brake shoes? Or batter yet...where to buy some that will fit?
I'm wondering if it is possible that someone changed out the rearend (or at least the hubs) on this truck before I was the owner? Were the original shoes 3" wide?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I called LMC this morning and asked if they could measure their brake shoes for a '69 F100 and they said they didn't need to neasure them, because they had that info on their computer. They said the shoes are 3 3/4" wide!! LOL! The 3" wide shoes that Dennis Carpenter sent me are about 1/2" too wide!
Do you know where I can order some? Or can I just got to my local Advance Auto Parts or or O'Reily's and have them order some?

Don't know about where you live, but according to their website, the Advanced Auto two miles from my house has both front (they list two versions, 11x3.07 and 11x2.07, guessing the 2.07 is for 4x4) and rear (11x2.31) shoes for a 1969 F100 in stock, so you may be able to get them same day. Their website usually can tell you which stores nearby have the parts in stock.
Tip if you buy from Advanced Auto: Sign up for an account on their site, and throw something (doesn't matter what) in your cart and leave it there. After a few days, they will send you an email encouraging you to check out, along with a 25% off coupon code! Now go order whatever you want from their site, and if it's in stock at the local store you can just drive down with your order email printed out and pick it all up. If it's not in stock, most everything they will ship to you free. I discovered this by accident, but I've found it to work pretty consistently.

The loco box stores carry many of the engine an brake parts that we use. AutoZone carry more parts an have them on hand more then any other box store around in my area. At Oreille's they didn't even have or could not even order a fuel pump for a 1966 Torino with a 302 motor. This was when, I went to AutoZone an they had it in stock...>Orich

At Oreilly's they didn't even have or could not even order a fuel pump for a 1966 Torino with a 302 motor.
The reason is, there was no such thing.

Torino was an upscale Fairlane, 302 introduced in Ford/Merc Passenger Cars in the spring of 1968. F100, Bronco and Econoline got it in 1969.
