I have a 1995 F150 4.9 4x4 M/T no air in head smog. I used to have the E4OD but did a manual swap. I got a rebuilt ECM but I think it's bad and its probably not the right one. I have a persistent codes 213, 311, and 225. Sometimes on the dynamic test 225 doesn't come up. The 213 code has been on the truck for at least 2 years. Spark plugs indicate that its running lean. I need to know the correct part number for a 1995 4.9 m/t ECM. I think theres 3 or 4 different 4.9 m/t computers
213 - Spout. Check your timing make sure it is not too far advanced. The spout plug is removed when setting the timing.
10 degrees is where it should be set at if I recall correctly.
311 - Thermactor Air System Fault part of the smog/emissions system. any vacuum leaks missing hoses?

Start by trying to resolve those.
I dont have Air in head or the thermactor because computer wants to see that circuit, and it's not present on my truck. The TAD, TAB, and EGR are the only vacuum circuits on my truck. I just ignore this code.
I did check timing a couple months ago and got it right at 10° with SPOUT plug removed. I noticed with SPOUT plugged in, computer advances timing, and unplugged, timing was steady.
the computer will advance the timing with the SPOUT in, thats what it is supposed to do.
I'd clear the codes and then check it again. was the engine at operating temp when you read codes? do a KOEO,CM,KOER test
Yes engine was at operating temperature during KOEO, KOER self tests.
KOEO: 111 System pass
KOER: 311, 213 225(if I floor it longer no 225 code)
If the ECM is advancing timing with SPOUT plugged in, yet still thinks the SPOUT signal is open, how can that be?
You didn’t need to replace the computer. It would have run fine but would have had the obvious codes for the missing auto trans.
What computer did they give you?
Well it was dying when I pressed the clutch to downshift due to different idle strategy. Loosing power brakes going downhill isnt good. I think its ANT1 ECM.
check the spout plug for corrosion. It's a possibility, also check your ICM
I actually had to have my truck towed today because it wouldn't start. The ICM was bad. Plugged my backup in and it started right up. I checked codes after the new ICM. Connections are clean with almost no resistance through the connector.
Well, hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I can help you figure it out. I am at a loss, from here on out it will be a learning experience for me also.
I have done extensive testing in one of my older posts. 213, 311 help is the title. I just ordered a new PCM. I got some help from OBS Revolution on Facebook. I'll be at a complete loss as well if a new pcm doesn't fix it. I know if I find a solution, I'll update the threads.
