volare steering up grades
Hi, I have a 1954 ford pick up with Ford 302 and T-5 manual transmission. I had Bob' F100's install a Volare front suspension and 9" ford rear end back in 2004 and when I got it home I replaced all the bushings, ball joints and shocks. I have always had quite a bit of play in the steering wheel. Does anyone know of any up grades that will work on the volare? like a Rack system that would work on the Volare or different gearbox? OR..... Any help would be appreciated.

Most all the major parts houses like Cardone, Conquest, Summit, O'Reilly, and Autozone to name a few sell replacement Volare steering boxes. I would just replace the box. No need to re-invent the wheel with a rack and pinion...

Maybe a Borgeson unit would fit? Borgeson mopar steering box
That would be one way to get some better feel and a better steering ratio.
