Hi, I just got a 72 f100 sport custom with a 390. Problem is its been hit in the front, took out the whole front clip, fenders, inner wheel wells, radiator support, radiator and front bumper. Hood might be able to be reworked not sure. My question is are f250's of the same year compatible? They seem to be more plentiful around here.
Thank you for the info. I found a donor truck for $350, going to get it today if everything goes right. Then if I have frame problems I have a.new frame for it. As they say free isn't free. I got the truck from a friend who's kid wrecked it.They just wanted it gone. Everything that needs to be done I'll do myself, I usually do my own paint and body work so that's a money saver. I don't like electrical but as long as your grounds are good then its just patience. I'll get some pictures on here so you guys can see what I'm dealing with. You might see something that I don't. Thanks again for the help so far.
Yup, all the light duty f-series the same. Not quite.
1967/72 F100/350: There are TWO different radiator supports. The support used with the Super Cooling radiator has a larger opening radius.
If the support is for a Super Cooler, and your truck doesn't have it, the mounting holes won't line up, so you'll have to fab up some brackets.
If your truck has a Super Cooler, and the radiator support isn't for it, you'll need a sawsall to trim the support, then drill new mounting holes.
1970/72 grille frames: 1970 is 1970 only. 1971/72 is the same, but the 1971 plastic grille inserts look slightly different than 1972.
Brakes: 1968/72 F100's have 11" x 3" front drum brakes. 1967/72 F250's have either 12 1/8" x 2" or 12" x 2 1/2" front/rear drum brakes.
1968/72 F250 2WD's were available with optional dual piston caliper disc brakes. The rear drum brakes are 12" x 2 1/2."
F250's have 8 lug 16" wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle, so F250 brakes and related parts will not fit F100's that have 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle.
