I too am in the injector hunt. I’m currently running PIS 175/80’s and they have seemed to show issues. Like rough idle, poor fuel economy. They do start good when cold but I’m looking to try something else. I’m thinking full force and some 180/xx

I was looking at some 180/xx originally from Full Force but after talking to Dusty at 1023 I’ll be going with the 205/80 hybrids, still from Full Force. They can be tuned down to the same power leve as the 180/xx but if you want to have fun, and have the supporting mods, all you have to do is press a button.

I have read a lot on this forum and others and from what I have gathered is that A codes atomize fuel better then hybrids? Is it true I don’t know? But I may have to call full force to find out.

I have no clue if it’s true or not either. When I takes with Dusty he said they have guys up there running 205s up to 3xx or 4xx, whatever some of the monster ones are and they start up just fine in the cold so I’m not really worried about it. If it will affect fuel mileage poorly I have no clue, I’ve read here and elsewhere where guys got better mileage than before, part of that is definitely the new vs old injectors but there has to be more than that. I’m just hoping to get back my cold start abilities and my fuel mileage, I got 14 on the interstate last I measured. Granted it is winter fuel but last time I took a trip I got around 16

I don't think I would do a 30 nozzle on anything . Get 80 or 100 and have the ability to detune them.

205/30 sounds like a long pulse width. I can't remember who said they were looking at those.

I’m going with Full Force 205/80s. They are remans but from what I’m reading all the wear parts are brand new and flow matched so as far as I’m concerned they’re new. From the reading Ive done and talking to Dusty I can have them tuned as a stock power level then other tunes for use of the available power. There will definitely be a stock power setting on my hydra for if someone else wants/ needs to drive it. I don’t feel like letting someone loose with a 400hp 8300lb truck with “armor” when they’ve never driven something like that.

Good luck with the remans. They are hit or miss. A lot of people have success and a lot have problems. I for one would not do remans again. I have gone through 18 injectors "lifetime warranty" and am biting the bullet and buying new ones.

The injector body itself is a wear item. I has a sealing surface machined in it, that according to my research, nobody is re-machining. Maybe they are now though.

That was the same info I gathered during my research. Lifetime warranty or not it's not a simple afternoon job to swap injectors. It was worth it for me to save the potential labor/down time to just get new ones to start with.

FWIW when I had my issues with P.I.S. they told me that there was little profit margin for them with new injectors. I'm not sure how true it is or if they were trying to justify their lack of interest in working with me (after I bought the injectors). Since I was sending mine in as cores first they tried to sell me on getting mine remanned but I already knew I was going new.

Does anyone have a link to new 205/80 hybrids? I’ve read many people have had issues but never say where they got the injectors from or what the issues were.

A set of new AC's...then taken apart and have (I think) B code guts put them? Sounds expensive.

Yes it does sound expensive and that’s even more down time for ge truck. Why isn’t it an afternoon job to swap injectors? I’ve never done it but reading doesn’t sound like it’s a multi day ordeal, get started in the morning and have it done by dinner time if I go slow

It's not a multi-day ordeal, if things go "right". It's nearly an all day thing...an, it never fails that you will find something else that needs to be, or should be, addressed while you're "in" there.

For me it's multi-day. I work alone and am incredibly OCD so multiply everything by 4 and that's how long it takes me at a minimum. Plus, as Dan V mentioned, there's usually something else you didn't plan on once you dive in.

I'm getting better at it but it still takes me 6 hours to hot torque from start to finish. That's really hoofing it for me (no distractions from the family) and I have a high idle tune.
