HI, I have a 2017 XLT, standard sync with the standard smaller color instrument cluster. I replaced the radio with an aftermarket which works great however I lost the outside temp display. I recently drove an XL which the smaller single color instrument cluster and noticed the outside temp was displayed on the cluster rather then the center stack which made me wonder if there was a way to make this happen with Forscan on my truck?

I've been wanting this forever! It should be possible then if the XL has it. I want it due to using Android Auto all the time and losing it onscreen.
I recently installed an Alpine HU with the idatalink box to integrate the HU with the truck (idatalink comes with an obd plug). I set it up so when I hold down the mode button on the steering wheel it brings up a gauge display. You can select whatever info you want to display. I chose external temp in the center spot.
I'd really like to add it to my IPC but have yet to see the outside temp displayed there on one. I'd guess it would only be on a non Sync/Sync3 truck. XL with base type radio.
