Does anyone have a source for getting brand new real OEM side view mirrors for 1992-1996 F150? I would also consider just getting the solid chrome brackets. Used ones in excellent condition are impossible to find and the eBay knockoffs are junk.
TIA
Have you tried cleaning your old ones up with some aluminum/stainless steel polish? I plan on trying to rescue mine that way before I give up on them and put on a pair of west coasts

These "Low Mount Swing-Lock" mirrors are available from Ford, but I doubt you'll want them...due to the price.
F2TZ-17696-E Right & F2TZ-17696-F Left > > MSRP each: $202.73 // Autonationfordwhitebearlake.com online price each: $156.10.
Auto parts stores sell similar looking mirrors, but they are not swing-locks. The spacing of the upper/lower bracket holes and the span between the upper and lower brackets will be different.
It's possible that SoCal Truck Wrecking (323-587-3144) has some users, they're located at 8229 S. Alameda St., just north of Firestone Blvd., but are closed on weekends.
I never found new ones to buy. Mine a little different than most. I go to the junkyard two or three times in about three years. It took fifteen years to find the ones I wanted. My point is that quality mirrors might look ridiculously expensive but fifteen years is a long time.
I bought some off ebay that are supposed to be real good repro for reasonable price, didn't use the arms at all. Once you crank the poo out of them, they will stay in place. I expect they will maybe last a few years.
I bought a set of after market mirrors about 5 years ago. The driver side mirror was okay, although the passenger side is not convex to see the "objects larger" issue. The real problem was with the quality of chrome plating on the bracket and bolts. Corrosion started within a couple of months (no rain, just dry SoCal weather). The vendor replaced them but the same issue with rust and corrosion started again. I was able to find some good used OEM mirrors and attached them to the after market brackets. The bottom line is that I want OEM for everything on this truck.
The same is true of the power sport paddle mirrors. I've tried 5 or 6 brands over the years. Nowhere near as good as OEM. I also think they were all the same mirror on different packaging. I mean how hard is it to make a mirror that stays in place.
I've given up. I just spent the arm and leg. Twice. Once for my pickup, once for thee Bronco. It hurt at first to pay so much, but I really like having mirrors that stay in place, and I don't really remember spending the money any more,

I had the same kind of swing-away mirrors and ended up getting Ranger mirrors which actually bolted perfectly into the top two mounting holes.....
Does all this hold true for the mirror heads as well? My brackets are still fine...well, they look beat up, but hold fine, lol. It's the passenger side mirror head that won't stay up, and the few aftermarkets I've tried were all so sloppy out of the box that a decent sneeze would make it fall over....literally. I'm just about the point of getting it set where I want it and just spot welding the damn thing in place.
Though what I REALLY want is a set of remote power head west coast style mirrors on it, but those are stupid expensive too...and I know if I put a set on the Ford, I'll want a set on my International too, lol.
EDIT: oops, missed the link in an earlier post, with part numbers for the mirror heads. Looks like it is still possible to get them, though they sure aren't cheap either...maybe the west coast mirrors will be the way to go after all, lol.

I'd say more-so for the heads. I actually have cheap aftermarket brackets on my Bronco, but genuine Ford heads. They aren't quite as stable as the Ford brackets - Ford heads on my pickup, but they're pretty close. And WAY better than the Ford bracket - aftermarket head that was on my truck when I got it.
