Powermaster Starter

OEM starter on the 2000 7.3 PSD Ex has been dragging and of course I've been procrastinating. I finally broke down and ordered a new Powermaster reduction gear starter a couple weeks ago and put it on today. PITA scale was only about a 4 out of 10 IF you have a stubby ratchet, or an extra joint between the wrist and elbow of your dominant arm. I went the stubby route since it was only $22.75. This is for the top starter bolt. What a difference! The engine cranks like it means it now, I have no way of measuring cranking speed but it sounds like it's spinning twice as fast. The powermaster wasn't cheap at $240 something, I'm very happy with the results and feel like it was money well spent.

For that price I’d buy a Mean Green 6.4 starter. Much faster crank time.
