Locking tailgate

With this wealth of knowledge on here, does anyone know how to stop the tailgate from locking? I don’t know if it’s automatic at shutdown or when it’s locking? The remote does work, but after running to town and then unloading it’s locked. Thx in advance

It locks when you lock your doors. the only way I know of to keep it for locking is to disconnect the electrical connector at the tailgate

I don't know how to stop it from unlocking, without disconnecting, but if you have the fob in you pocket it will unlock and open. Or you could simply hit the unlock button on your door when you stop, regardless of you have keyless ignition or not.
