352 block code help

Hello everyone.
I am new. First post.
I have read quite a bit from the forum discussions.

Ive got a 1965 f250 and trying to identify what block I have.
The cast code on the block reads C6ME.
Date code.( I think... under oil filter on block) reads 6D6.
But also found a marking just behind oil dipstick... which reads 6D11B ( I’m not sure what this refers to?)
I’ve measured stroke and it is 3.5 inches.
I have not gotten around to measuring bore size yet but know I need to.
Code on the heads ( next to spark plugs) C4AE one side 6090g on the other.
The code on the intake is C5AE 9425B ... it’s got a 2 barrel carb.
Any help would and comments be greatly appreciated.
I am trying to figure out if someone has swapped the motor to my truck and or what is going on with what I’ve got.
I have read the the the cast code of C6ME would have been a block intended for a mercury .... from a 390 to a 428.
So im confused about this block being used with a 3.5 inch stroke.
Unless this block was pulled off the line and built as a 352?

another note ....at least backside of one head one head has two pre drilled holes.
Bell housing for tany is aluminum.
Also.... if remove the oil pan from bottom side, will I be able to measure the bore size?
What is the easyist way to measure bore without completely taking motor apart.
Oh.... and I can fit a 13/64 bit between cylinder walls? Through one freeze plug opening... not sure what this tells me either.
Thanks you.
(I am new to working on motors ... FYI. First project, so please be forgiving of my terminology if it’s not right)

I have the same C6ME block and C4AE 6090-G heads. My block has a 4" stroke (measured with a stick) and unknown bore so 410 or 428. The heads are "high risers" and runs a solid lifter cam and stock adjustable rockers. Maybe we will both learn something.

I am a num nuts here so I am sure I will be corrected. I have never heard of the code ME after the C6 as referring to a Mercury. This does not mean it is not so. As for measuring an engine size, there is always the racetrack tech inspection method of filling a hand held cylinder with a known volume of air and then bleeding that air into a cylinder on the engine. The amount in multiplied by the number of cylinders of the engine equals size.

The block casting number prefix: C6ME // Block casting date code: 6D6.

I’ve measured stroke and it is 3.5 inches. Code on the heads (next to spark plugs) C4AE one side 6090-G on the other.

The code on the intake is C5AE 9425B ... it’s got a 2 barrel carb.

C6ME = 1966 352 (based on the 3.50" stroke [352: 4.00" x 3.50"]) FE engine block from a Ford Galaxie/LTD or F100/350.

6D6 = Cast April (D) 6, 1966 (6).

C4AE-6090-G heads are 1964, possibly 1965 too. The C5AE intake manifold is 1965, possibly 1966 too.

C6ME could also be a 390, 410 or 428. All FE engines were cast as 352's, when they were finished, could be anything.

The 330 352 and 360 all have a 3.5" stroke. At the end of the below list is a bore stroke chart.

The 360 wasn't introduced until 1968, there are TWO different 330 2V FT engines.

Casting numbers are foundry marks, cannot be cross referenced to Ford part numbers.

I know for fact that there was a C7ME block casting number for FE's, so how could 1966 casting number prefix C6ME apply to the 360 that wasn't available until 1968?

Most of these block casting number lists are based on engines that people see, then they assume whatever size engine the number is found on, that's it.

Since 1968/76 360/390's share the same block, the casting number would be the same. This chart shows different numbers, so...something smells and it ain't hay.
