2014 won't start using remote

2014 won't start using remote

I tried to start my truck using the remote and nothing happened. Last time I used it was a week ago without any issues. I was able to start in the old fashioned way

Any tips to help resolve this issue.

A few things could be the problem. Bad battery in the remote/key fob. You have a check engine light on or stored DTC. Or even the battery(s) could be weak.

Is there any warning lights, CEL? Codes? A lot of these remote start devices won't work if there's any sort of a warning light on. Possibly even stored codes?

There may also be safety switches on other components such as the parking brake. Examine things like that.

Any additional info? Is the remote start on the same FOB as unlock/lock? If not, check remote battery.

Replace them now. You've just been given a warning, they will leave you stranded soon.

Cold weather will tell you in a heart beat the status of a battery....lol...had it happen a few times over the years

Truck battery is ok, no codes or check engine lights. I'll replace the key fob batteries and givevrgar a ahot.

When you hit the remote start does the horn honk once and flash the lights but then not start? Does the horn honk twice?

Have batteries in the truck load tested and have truck scanned for codes I would do the code scanning first Incase both batteries get disconnected at the same time.

The other thing you can try is to go in and turn remote start off, shut the truck off, take a ride, shut the truck off, fire it up again, turn remote start back on, shut the truck off and give it a shot.
