Ok, I have an issue with wheel fitment on some old school wheels I just have to have on my 79 f150 2WD. It's a long story with a quick question. Does anybody know if 95 f150 2WD rotors will work on a 79? The diameter and the wheel bearings are the same.
Let's hear the longer version of the story- what are you tying to achieve with swapping rotors? If the diameter is the same, are you trying to change the offset? If so, your calipers will probably not line up correctly. Or are you asking if the whole assembly (rotor, caliper bracket, caliper, etc.) can be swapped? If so, I think the answer would likely be no, but have never tried so I could be wrong.
I have an old set of US Mag slots that I want on the old truck. The left side rotor is the original, my Dad changed the right side rotor maybe 1982. The right side rotor is shorter at the hub and the wheels go right on. The hub on the left one is a little longer and hits the wheel center. I need pics to explain better. The wheels bolt up on my 95 but I figure the calipers probably wouldn't align with the rotor if on the 79. The part number for the rotors changes in 1994. I came across another thread on here where a guy had to machine his rotors to get Crager S/S wheels on without a spacer. I might just have to get a couple of new rotors and have them machined.
