Hello. I'm getting ready to prime my cab and some other parts. I have stripped them down to bare metal and done majority of the large areas that need papaired. My question has anyone used Eastwood epoxy primer and if so, how was your experience? I had found mixed reviews from it's just a different brand repackaged to its junk. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks
I have used a couple of quarts of Eastwood's epoxy primer with no problems. Was using Summit's product until they said they couldn't ship to Massachusetts any more. The products seemed identical to me.

Try Southern Polyurethanes. I have been using their epoxy primer, high build primer, and single stage paint to restore my 51 F1. Great products, very good pricing, reasonable shipping.
I've used nason products with good results, I think they are dupont's budget line. Would suggest sticking with one paint manufacturer all the way thru. Good luck! Larry
What is your goal for the truck...resto, custom, somewhere inbetween? I ask because where you want to be will determine what road your take. There are many DTM (direct to metal) primers on the market that will do the job nicely, just be sure that they are in fact DTM rated. I use a few specialty (read, expensive) that work really well on bare metal, smooth application and dry without orange peel. If you are just applying a coat of primer to keep the rust off and still have body work to do then a pricey epoxy primer is more than likely overkill. Advantage 325/326 and SEM Metallock 010 are both superior primers that are DTM and will perform high-build and sealer functions.
