Hello all, just curious how the heated and cooled seats are supposed to function. Specifically the heat. I noticed today that when I push the button for heated seats I hear the fans in the seats come on. I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen or not. The air doesnt seem cold like the cool function is kicking in. However other vehicles I've owned did not do this. The fans also turn on and off intermittently almost like they turn on with the heating elements. Anyone with experience or knowledge on this? I have a service appointment for my dealership to look at it. I'd like to save time and not go if I dont have to thank you.
in HGIH cool mode the thermo-electrics run the fan in one direction....in HIGH heat mode the "electrics" reverse and run the other direction.
the '17+ trucks do not use heating "pads" or "ducted" air conditioning.
This is the first vehicle I’ve had that had fans for the seat heaters. All the others have had electric heating elements. I actually wet back to the dealership a few days after I got the truck because I wasn’t sure what the noise was.
