Cooled Seats
Cooled Seats
Just wondering. When you turn on your cooled seats (hey, he was 80 a day or two ago here in Denver) does the fan sound like a large air tunnel? I had cooled seats on my 2012 SD and never heard a thing when they were on. But with the 2017, its so loud you have to raise your voice to be heard.
Now, I'm thinking this is wrong, but... ya' never know. So before I take it in for the warranty I just want to make sure.

Hi Ronn. I drove up through Estes Park from Highlands Ranch yesterday and my cooled seats came on. It's kind of noisy. I wonder what that strange noise is and then realize my seat is cool.
I turned mine on by accident yesterday and was wondering what the heck the blowing sound was…it was the cooled seats. I would not say it is so loud as to effect conversation, but it is a noticeable blowing sound.
I've had cooled seat on my last couple of cars, always heard a slight whirlybird-whine so to speak, wife's BMW however is almost stealth when running. Oh, those crafty Germans!
So far, my list of (Pre) beefs gets longer w all you guys putting more bad things in my head, seat comfort as being really the biggie. This however, is not a deal breaker. I say so what if it's noisy, and I can also crank up the sound system.

My current Dodge Ram is the same. It's dead silent, but works very well.

Generally speaking, the to maintain the same airflow with a lower speed fan is to increase the blade size. Sounds like a doable mod. 120 mm should do it. Take it a step further and put a potentiometer on the fan. You could change the air flow at will.
So they are using a fan also then? I've always had dead silent heated seats so this is weird.
