1968 C600 COE Vin Help
Hello Everyone,
Just picked up a 68 C600 and am curious what the vin decodes to. I am missing the warranty tag unfortunately on the door (figures).
Anyway my vin reads as C61CUC28411

C60 = C600 Tilt Cab (gas).
C = 330 2V Medium Duty FT engine.
U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.
C28411 = 1968.
Does the truck have a two speed rear axle and a 4 speed?
If so, the 4 speed is a New Process 435 and the two speed is probably an Eaton model 13802 w/a 5.83/8.17 ratio w/a 15,000 lbs. rear axle capacity.

If you give me the wheelbase and what the original color was, I can give you the codes so you can get a repro Warranty Plate with all the codes stamped on it from martiauto.com
There's no way to know what district sales office the dealer ordered it from, but since you live in IN, you could choose Indianapolis.
Here's a pic of the 1966/69 Warranty Plate. You can see where all the codes are located.

Which color is the roof? If it's red, the COLOR code on the Warranty Plate: JM
If the roof is white: MJ // Primary color listed first.
