hi all i have a 2008 f350 6.4L the heat just blows cold in idle always no matter where the truck ECT, or EOT is cold or at operating temp (197F in my truck) the heat typically works while driving up to around 55mph then it starts to switch to cold air until its just cold. if i go around 65mph it'll stay cold until the EOT gets up to around 215F then the fan kicks on hot air blows through the vents for about 30 seconds and it starts to go cold again its like my whole cooling system is a mess or something i replaced the thermostats last year after buying the truck it made no
Nope, sounds like it could go a couple of different ways on this one. In auto mode my heat starts to blow at 100 degrees(only slightly). It really starts producing heat at 150 degrees, I have a Bra on my truck that dose help with heat up but only marginally at the most. I have 192 degree stats in it and once up to temp it runs at 192 to 194 all the time. Engine oil temp once up to temp is usually 201-205 unless I have something behind me then both will increase with load.
I plug in every day and put a 2.5 hour warm up period before I go to work, gets my cold start temp up to 70 degrees or so and it still takes a good 10 miles at 65 MPH to get to 192, thank god for heated seats. It just takes too long to heat up 8 gallons of anti freeze in cold weather not working the truck, LOL. Now having said that I think we have a completely different issue with Joel3303 truck, if the super fan is coming on and he doesn't have heat first I'd like to know why is it getting up to 215 degrees (pulling heavy loads?) the super fan has never came on in my truck in any situation, it's just never got that hot, somethings up with that.
Hello I am having a similar issue but seems like a coolant flow problem to the heater core at idle ECT /EOT 192 -194 heat starts blowing cold above 1000 RPM heat starts blasting again any thoughts would be appreciated also has aftermarket AFE airfilter and housing wonder if it could be affecting the heater hoses ????
I've tried the setting on auto and manual no difference, the fan only ever kicks on in the winter(when it's cold) and not hauling anything,I just don't understand it at all. The truck runs consistent and good in spring summer and fall, I want my 7.3 back shoulda never got the $h1t.4 any luck with you guys?

Reason: Curse word
Do you have any diagnostic software that can monitor the position of the blend doors? My blend doors have a mind of their own and need to be replaced, but they make noise too. Just a thought.
