Looking at adding my own twist on ambient light.
was wondering if there a simple ignition / 12v source that I could tap into in the doors. Maybe speakers? ... In trying not to mess with BCM or Forscan... Just want to wire these mugs in!!!
Looking at doing some more on the center console side area. Just a few 5mm diffused LEDs strategically placed out of view. Don't want to change colors.
You can't run the lights off the speakers, but I know there's 12v accessory power there because your windows and buttons get power. You'd have to look at the wiring diagram and try to find the pin in the harness that supplies power there. Or just run a wire through the grommet for power.
I ran one for overhead and 3 more LEDs in the console. Easier to me if you just run a wire to a switch or potentiometer, then to the battery. Don't forget a small fuse.

Do you have pics of the install. I was crawling around the truck and noticed that I have the factory plugs, but they are powered on all the time...due to the data with inline with them....that would've been to easy.
