I put it in reverse and it delays going into gear. (motor rpm stays high and then drops into gear)
shifts are very lazy (but always the same). I get a shift at medium throttle that keeps rpm high and drops down.
I have put on about 10K since I bought truck a year ago. Changed all fluid and replaced filter. Also installed a Banks transcommand but didn't feel much of a difference. Do I need a rebuild or a shift kit? Or is this typical.
Typical symtoms of a Ford automatic in need of a rebuild and 115k is right there as far as mileage. It will last a while longer but you need to start shopping for a rebuild or replacement.
If you want quicker shifts, install the "tricumulator" and replacement "sonnex" valve in the tranny. I just installed them in mine last week, after someone recommended to me on this board. I'm not gonna say it was the best 50$ I ever spent, but dern close. The truck holds 3rd now longer at a cruising throttle too.
