Anyone else get a constant redirect from this forum using an iPhone?

Posting in here because I frequent this forum much more than any of the others. My issue is only on this website, I can be browsing for a few minutes then it redirects me to some stupid amazon prize or some stupid google reward I’ve cleared all history and everything I can think of the only way I can use this forum on my phone is with java turned off. Has anyone else had this issue ? Anyone got a fix for it ?

I had this to. I downloaded ad blocker plus. It’s free and took care of the problem.

It happened 4 time just trying to read the thread and a few people’s comments.

Its built into the page somehow. I can click on a forum, soon as the page loads i put my phone in airplane mode. Still pops up

Looks like everyone posting so far is not a supporter so I would hazard a guess that it is add based, so an add blocker should work. I have never gotten a redirect or pop up ad.

It's a problem with external adds permitted on this site that can include scammy-javascript. Often you become targeted once you're identified as a susceptible device. Clearing your browser history and cookies can sometimes help, and disabling javascript will outright kill it.. but make the pages work like crap...

So... It's adds, and frustrating AF. If you're a paid member with no adds... no problems.

Whoever invented redirects should be .... well I don't want to get banned.

You might try looking into "persistant cookies", if you check your browser history you'll find that, even if you click "block all cookies" it installs them anyway. And (it gets better) if you click "delete all cookies" it doesn't delete them.

Pretty cool, huh? I am (well ... try) careful about websites, some of them are not what they seem at all, and will install hundreds of pieces of cookies and malware on your device in a split second. Using iPhone 6 and never had any redirects here. Every now and then certain sites wig out. Clean everything up, and reboot.

Just installed a Norton ad blocker...we’ll see if it works. Seems like a good interface for Safari. What a pain those redirect ads are - should be illegal.

Using a VPN is another option that works for me. I’m always cautious of anything “free”. They’re making their money somehow, either upfront, or selling your data. IPVanish is my vpn of choice.
