Is the King single steering stabilizer better than the Fox IFP single stabilizer? Seems like the King version costs a little bit more. The Fox ATS seems nice but I'd prefer one that uses the stock factory mounting points rather than that clamp.
The Fox and the King will give you pretty much identical performance. The ATS is obviously a better choice, but I'm not sure you'll see 3x the ROI considering its price.
I've got the King SS on my SD and Fox ATS on my wifes Wrangler. The ATS is like a dual stabilizer since its active in both stroke directions and its got 23 dampening/stiffness settings. It made a huge difference in the ride but hasn't been available for the SDs until now. A regular SS is of course active in both directions too but the stroke is kind of like a positive/negative whereas the ATS is like a positive/positive, if that makes any sense. As far as handling the ATS floats whereas as a regular SS returns the steering to center quicker. It took a little getting used to but really happy with it now overall
The King SS on my SD was a really nice addition and matches the rest of my King shocks but will likely feel very similar to a Fox IFP. It felt a little stiff at first (they all will) but it really smoothed out the handling (they all will) and really happy with it. I'd get the ATS if you can find one but the IFP will be plenty fine too. I think most regular SSs will feel similar but the ATS is something of a different beast. It's the upgrade/evolution over a regular SS
I have the Fox IFP and for me it was a good choice. My truck likes to follow road crown and also seemed to pull slightly right even on flat road. Dealer spent 2+ weeks trying to correct (they agreed with me) but I was not satisfied with the results. The FOX allows you to adjust air pressure and exert more force that pushes left on the steering linkage. This greatly diminished my problem. And yes it is ridiculous that i had to spend money out of my pocket on a brand new truck to get it to track better, but so be it.
Thanks guys! I finally got my snow tires on and got to go for a 60 mile drive today. So far the steering feels OK so I might leave the stock SS on for now but will probably get either the King or Fox SS in the near future. Found out though that my side mirror adjustment buttons don't work. Had to make an appointment with the dealer to get it fixed later this month.
