A mechanic recently told me that warped heads could cause ICP problems. Do you agree? I also recently replaced my ICP it had been throwing a code for several months.
My 2004 excursion is deadlined now, no light or anything when I turn the ignition. I am trying to figure out if the warped heads caused that.
Thanks for all the answers. What would warped heads lead to on a 6.0, and would there be symptoms? You cant tell a head is warped by looking at it can you
Two or more cylinders will not hold compression, so they not working and then the engine may not start at all. Typically the cylinder compression leaking past the head gaskets of warped heads causes the coolant to overflow the degas bottle and coolant or white debris are covering the bottle, air filter, and parts surrounding. If the warpage is severe enough coolant can fill a cylinder and the starter can’t rotate the motor, the situation called hydrolocked.
A head can only be checked for warp by removing it from the block.

I'm more than likely the dumb**** here instead of the mechanic. I looked over my posts at the codes it was throwing before it shutdown and they were cylinder related. Considering that, my mechanic probably related warped heads to cylinder contribution problems, not the ICP.
I have good reasons in my life right now for getting confused about stuff as trivial as the only vehicle I can fit my family in not running, some of you know what I am talking about.
Warped heads causing the codes here makes more sense then, and I probably need to start bulletproofing my excursion?
