Optima is good if your running it inside the vehicle like in a battery box. Have one in the trunk of my mustang.
I used the Sears Platinums which were supposedly made by Odessy at the time. I think 950CCA each. Spun the starter real fast in my Cummins.
At the price though and as someone said above if the Motorcraft is 36 month replacement and longer prorated and only $150 each I’d go with those. That’s almost a no brainer.

I used to buy the sear platinum because they were made by Odyssey - that said I had two failures of the group 31's. Then switch to the real Odyssey and zero problems since.
I think sears is gone now but they were near my office in the medical center in Houston. I used them because it was in and out without hauling my cores around. The truck had some minor electric issues (Dodge issues) and the Sears batteries were doing just fine 4 years later when i sold it.
I think i was having to wear a business suit everyday at the time and always busy so didn’t want to jack with ordering anything special.
Regardless of the battery you choose make the dealer/auto shop, etc load test prior to buying them to make sure the batteries are hot. I have managed to buy 2 that were almost dead before that were brand new. Thankfully the store covered me for the trouble and had no issues load testing prior to purchasing the next ones. I learned a valuable lesson that day. I guess it makes sense but I never considered the need to load test a brand new unused battery but nonetheless I will demand it from now on.
I've run Napa Gold batteries for the past 5 years on my old chevy with good success. 84 month warranty that is prorated will be hard to beat for the price.
Thank you all for the great input and I appreciate the community. I decided on the X2Power Premium AGM (Re branded North star) for 319.99. I can pick them up from my local batteries plus so warranty service should not be an issue. Dimensions are extremely close to factory so cold air intake should fit. I like the extra posts for accessories. I really wanted a sealed battery because I hate the corrosion risk after last debacle. I wanted a deep cycle capable battery for aux lighting and compressors. They spec very close to Odyssey batteries which sound like the gold standard. Lastly, Batteries plus has 10% coupon if you buy online and pick-up in store which makes the batteries 287.99 which is a hair cheaper then I could get Odyssey for. I did read that Odyssey warranties where a hassle because they don't have many local re-seller locations. I like to be over prepared for every situation and I figure the factory battery lasted about 2 years and these are warranted for 4 so even if they crap out after 4 years I feel like I at least got most of my moneys worth and the other bonus above are just icing on the cake.
Heck I needed one for my 6.2 gasser recently and had to jump off to get to Oreily. Their lower end battery was expensive in my opinion. I bought that but luckily they had to give me the better mid level one as they were out of stock and it looks like it’s only a better warranty....
(Dont plan to keep the truck much longer)

No Sorry that is a piece. Just did the online order. Total after check out and getting the core deposit back was 626.47 for (2 batteries).
Buying from a brick-and-mortar store cannot be understated. I bought my Odyssey PC1700MJT from an online store for a good price with free shipping. When it came time to warranty the battery the online retailer basically told me to pound sand. No recourse. After complaining to Odyssey, I found a local reseller and they warrantied it for me and gave me a good chastising for buying online. For $300+ they can chew me out all they want.
Where did you find a 60 pound battery for a good price with "free shipping"? The costs of "free shipping" are rolled into the price of any product, but battery prices are fairly competitive and it's awfully tough to hide $50+ or whatever it would be.
It was a good 9 years ago. It would take some digging to find the invoice. That was the place that didn't support the warranty. So you don't want to do business with them anyhow.
Slightly off topic, but I looked online for a set of Trojan T-105 (6v golf cart) batteries. I found a local store that beat every online price I could find and not by a small amount.
I just replaced a Wally World EverStart MAXX that was 9 years old. It was still working but I knew its time was coming. Best price and easy to deal with for warranty/exchanges. Wally typically doesn't argue.
I agree I get all my stuff there, you take a battery back anywhere else, oreilly, autozone they want to tell you its still good, quite frustrating.
