I have been having a problem with my delayed accessories staying on when key is out. I have checked all door latches (all good and in proper order), replaced the VSM didn’t do anything, checked all relays the right way not just listening for a click. If I turn my windshield wipers to the highest setting( doesn’t come on for any other setting) it will click a relay and turn the dome light on. Does anyone have the slightest clue as to what it could be I’m at a loss
That thread deals with leaky windshields allowing water into the GEM and fusebox. The 2006 SD does not have a GEM module.
The ADR is supposed to keep the radio, power windows, and the door lock switch illumination circuits hot after the ignition is switched OFF and until a door is opened. Are these the (only) specific items that are remaining on? Are you having issues after the doors are opened? You only mentioned "when the key is out" which is not the same thing. Does the "door ajar" notification function work properly?
The wipers might be a separate issue. Could be a a grounding issue, a problem with the cluster, the MFS, or the wiper motor module.
Do try to be as specific as possible in describing your observations and actions.
Okay I thought I was being pretty descriptive, (yes door ajar light comes on for every door and goes off when closed) saying I checked the door latches and they are good. When I say key out I do mean turned off key out and obviously door opened for me to say that all this power stays on.
The latches are not the switches, the switches are attached to the latches. You need to be explicit. It was not obvious that the door was open when you initially described the concern. Did I mention you have to be explicit? Look, I've been doing this a LONG time and I've learned that anything that is not specifically stated cannot be assumed. Been there, done that, wasted time due to insufficient information. Now I ask for the specifics. You can either play along for assistance or you can play by yourself.
All issues are after doors are opened, then closed again. Door ajar light functions properly for every door. Everything I mentioned in the main post plus obd II are the only things that stay on. Some light goes off like it is suppose to. I think that answers everything you asked previously.
Im not trying to be rude or disrespectful. I know text doesn’t help that at all.
