Hey guys I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have a 02 F250 7.3. Truck runs great and has been up until a few weeks ago. The accelerator pedal started working intermittently. So after doing some research if found the tps was going bad. So I ordered a new one and installed it as well as a new over drive button and handle assembly. But sometimes the truck wont accelerate at all it throws a code but only when the truck is running and apparently unless I take it to a shop it cant be checked with the engine running. Truck runs great no loss of power no rough idle or anything. Just the truck wont accelerate it goes back and forth. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I need to look next what else.could it be.
Torque Pro or Forescan and the appropriate obd reader, dependent on if you have IOS or Android, will read your code. Is the problem primary from a stop? Google 7.3L Idle Validation Switch (IVS). There’s several good videos on YouTube with regards to cleaning it.
Yes only when I completely let off the accelerator does it do it of it starts working and I keep my foot on the pedal it will continue to work but if I let it go back to idle it quits again

‘Then read my previous post, try cleaning the IVS switch...
The ivs switch is integrated into the pedal with the tps. I just replaced it with a ford oem pedal. It didnt fix it so I bought another one and still didnt fix it.
