Been looking around on this site for about the past year and joined last night after owning our 05 Eddie Bauer Ex with the 6.0 for just about a year now. This site is full of valuable information and has helped out alot. The day after we got her home Not sure what brand these bumpers are but they are awesome Before and after wheel and tire upgrade
Thanks for the welcome. She has had some updates, on her maiden voyage to her final stomping grounds we made a pit stop and low and behold coolant puking everywhere. I told the dealer to fix it right or take the paperwork and shove it so they did make it right and after trying everything else first the finally replaced the head gaskets and I even got them to stud it while they were in it, they didnt want to at first but finally convinced them. It had the egr delete done prior to our purchase so two major fixes done. Did have to replace #4 injector and glow plug this weekend and many thanks to all the information here made the job pretty simple. The next thing I'm undertaking is the cooling system flush, saw some debris when I drained some coolant to remove the degas bottle.
Welcome! I’d recommend a coolant filter for sure. First one I changed after a flush had close to a tablespoon of sand in the filter just from dumping it through a coffee filter.
Nice looking EX. Another thing I would urge you to get is a new coolant bottle cap. I suggest the Stant 10238. I had found that my OEM cap would only hold about 9 psi when it should hold 16 psi. Plus they are only about $5.
Good luck on your mods and if you have any questions you will find that there are many people here who are more than happy to help.
Thanks for all the welcomes to this forum. The wheels and tire are both Dick Cepek. Found out today that the next repair is a rear axle seal on the passenger side. Seems like a pretty straight forward project as long as the weather cooperates seems how no garage to work in. Ive been doing alot of looking around and trying to decide between a bypass coolant filter or go with the IPR full flow filter when I flush the cooling system. I do use torque pro to keep an eye on a few things while driving around and as of right now the Deltas are not bad and come back down pretty quick when stopped so I'm just waiting to buy supplies to do the coolant flush and a decent weekend when I have the time.
I have the same color I think; I assume you have Pueblo Gold. I thought that this was only available in 2004, but that's not definite. I do know it was listed as new to 2004s, so not many out there. I didn't realize the the Eddie Bauer version were one-color like yours. What does the interior look like? (Medium parchment? Two-tone?) I have seen a few that on first glance look to be the same, but this may be the first one I've seen that's the exact same paint color. Yours appears to have been well taken care of. How many miles on yours?
It is the Pueblo Gold and has the two tone interior. She has just under 187K miles on her and seems to have been well taken care of. I do know that I am at least the third owner and most likely the final owner. I have found out thru working under the hood that there has been several things changed and some seem recent just before we purchased it. The Ficm has been changed (can't recall the name that was on the sticker on the bottom), both wiring harness for the glow plugs have been replaced, new egr valve installed even though the cooler has been deleted. Those are what I know of for certain. I do need to freshen up on my body work skills this summer and take care of 2 spots i did find, one is on the pillar of the rear door at the very bottom (appears to be the hardest area as its going under the cladding) and an area I found in the cargo area when I removed the plastic so I could fit the nee spare tire in the stock location.
