Windshield Wiper Blades Help

Need help before the rains arrive...

I ordered this set of (Windshield Wiper Blade 1953 - 60, P/N B2T-17528-A), from DC but for the life of me could not figure out how to mount them on the arm itself. Upon further research with DC I was informed that I needed this instead (Wiper Blade 11" Original Design 1953 - 60, P/N 8A-17528) Yet I STILL CAN NOT figure out how in the world these "eFing" things go together! Pardon my french...
It's supposed to rain this weekend (soon) and I would like to wash my truck with it's newly installed windshield wipers and park it back in the garage before it gets too wet. LOL
I know it's got to be very simple but this idiot here is not able to figure the puzzle.
Also looking to diminish or stop the front disk brake dust as it turns my white walls black! Sigh...

Disregard the cylinder looking thingy please.

Disregard the cylinder looking thingy please.

The wipers you reference from DC both look like they are for the "hooked" wiper arm. Your wiper arm is straight. The B2T-17528-A will work, but you need the adapter clip. It should have come with the blade.

(Ignore the color, this one is for our military truck)

For convenience, NAPA sells them:

EDIT: The correct part number is WIP 60116. The price locally is $9.49, no shipping.

The problem with Carpenter is, he uses original Ford part numbers that were replaced by Ford years later. He also substitutes car part numbers for truck part numbers.

Carpenter gets away with this jazz because he knows that most of his potential customers do not have a Ford parts catalog that they could use to verify numbers.

For example 8A-17528 is the original Ford part number for 1949 Ford passenger car 11" blades. It was replaced in 1950 with 0A-17528. Also available was A9A-17528-C 11" blade with adapter.

Neither were used on trucks. 1948/52 trucks used 10" wiper blades, that were available with a 'universal' adapter (A8C-17528-A) or without an adapter. (B1T-17528).

1957/60 trucks wiper blade was 11.82" long.

The adapter just hooks under the pins on either side of the blade.
The wiper arm either has a pin sticking out of the top, or a hole. (at box A) I think most of the old Fords had the pin, this is a modified Kaiser arm with the hole.
The adapter should have a hole on top that the pin locks into. (at box B) If the arm has a hole, there is a catch on the locking lever that locks into it from the bottom.

Oh, I think I see what you mean,

They don't "click" into place. If the arm is locking into the adapter, and the adapter is hooked onto the blade, that's it. I know it seems kind of cheesy, but that's the way the universal blades work.

Your arm/blade on the bottom, as you have it, is ready to go.

These are "universal" blades. The extra notch with the spring latch is for another kind of arm.

The blades on the bottom, that they say are correct, are for the "dipped" end arm. If you had the dipped arms you can still use the universal blades, but without the adapter.

Dipped arm:

Straight arm with adapter, ready to go:

This is the universal blade installed on the dipped arm, without the adapter:

These are the non-universal blades for the straight arm, as sold by MidFifty:
(they call them "bayonet" style)

Its funny that I just went through this, Simply went to Napa with my blade, bought four, and drove off into the
rain 54 F900 dump truck (same deal as a 1953) & keep the 2 extra under the seat.

The two at the bottom are for a truck with the stock arm. Your arms pictured at the top are after market so they are not compatible. All new refills come with multiple adapters and instructions on how to connect them to all current arms. Dig out the packaging and follow the instructions. Many have instructions on the package and a sheet inside the package.

Later!

Just wanted to update you on this...
As it turns out, the part number for the Napa blades returned me a nice set but I could not use them as they did not have the chingadera for the arm to “hook” on to. Go figure. On the bright side, they had refill blades which I opted for as it appeared to work... Fastforward to yesterday when I mustered the will to play with them and I learn that one of the blades is not exactly as the other so I can only use one wiper. I think I’m gonna NOT put any wipers on after all and leave this to my son to tackle in the distant future. Maybe we can do this together... sigh
Thank you ALL

I'm dealing with trying to find blades for my truck. I have the dipped arm and a stock blade assembly.
I can't find refill blades that will fit. I went to Napa and they said they don't sell refills. I know that's not true since I see them on their web site, but their attitude and that comment made me leave without any discussion.
After reading this thread I went to O'Reilly today. My daughters boyfriend went to the lookup device and found Trico Classic 33-122. They will be in tomorrow, hopefully they will work for me.

Here is my arm:

If I'm reading you correctly, the new blades will not lock in. It just kind of sits in there.
My old blade has an interesting spring setup to lock it in.

That might simply be terminology. Technically, a "refill" is just the rubber part with the flat metal bars. The whole thing, other than the arm, is called a "blade".

Those actually lock in place. The ones that don't lock are the adapters with the hooks. Like these:
