Accessory vs run mode on push button start

Any idea how to get the push button start in run mode. I tried to get a brand new flashpaq to connect to my truck just to download current truck program in the event ford ever tries to change it in the future. Get security access failed error message. Contacted their tech support and they say that i have to get the truck in run mode and not just ACC. Like if you had a key the second spot to turn. I have looked high and low and just don't see how that is possible. Tried hitting the button twice, but that only turns it on acc and then back off again. Any idea???

I think the only way is to actually start the engine. At least that's the case with mine; if the engine isn't running them I am only in ACC mode.

Tried that one too. So far "full accessory mode" is all I can get.

With push button start, get in the teuck with your key in your pocket, don’t press the brake, then press the start button. It will come up with a message of Full Accessory power” this is run mode they are talking about. Everything is powered. Now plug in your device to turn he OBD2connector. The message should pop on dash as Full accessory power”. HVAC is running, all dash is running, full lights etc.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing. They still say that it is only accessory mode and not run mode that is needed. Even though I talked to three different tech support guys there today, I think they must be wrong.

Is it a brand new tuner? if its used it may be locked to the last vehicle. The tuners stay locked until the stock tune is put back in the previouse vehicle. Just a thought.

Nvm missed "brand new" in OP
