Is this possible?

Hey all, we are trying to find a way that my son can listen to music in his car via Bluetooth from his phone without installing a head unit. The car is a 65 Galaxie and the original AM/FM is sort of built in to the dash, replacements are available but extremely expensive and still only AM/FM.

Is there something like that? A unit that we can just wire the car speakers to then either Bluetooth or plug his phone into for apple music, iTunes or whatever?
It's hard to search when I am not really sure what I'm looking for.

I'd suggest replacing the stereo, take a look at this site, just enter your vehicle info and they'll show you what fits. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-Lo9dMVoOygf/g_370850/Custom-Car-Stereos.html?&pg=2 By doing so, and incorporated with some good speakers, you'd have a much better sounding system

However if you don't want to replace the stereo the cheapest route to go would be to get something like this. https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product...12323393.aspx? With these all you do is plug it into a cigarette lighter socket, connect you phone to it, then tune the FM radio to a specific frequency and it's all done wirelessly. There's a bunch of different styles of these things that you can see at the following link, so shop around till you find one you like. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...itter&_sacat=0

Thanks for the links. Replacement isn't really an option as it is built into the gauge cluster and adding another in the glove box, although an option isn't ideal. After talking with him more he just wants a Bluetooth receiver to listen to his iphone. I'm beginning to understand more about what he is talking about but I just don't think it exists.

That's basically what's shown in my second reply, they're bluetooth receivers that wirelessly connect the iphones bluetooth, then send this signal wirelessly to the existing stereo via the FM radio, that way you can listen to the music from the iphone on the existing stereo. If you look at the following youtube video it'll explain how these work.

the FM transmitter is about the only way you are going to able to go unless you can find someone that will add a usb port to the existing radio. i have never seen an aftermarket radio that will work in the 65-66 galaxy dash.
