My uncle has an F-250 and it appears to be the d50 axle. It has auto hubs, which we're swapping for warn hubs. I took the hub apart, and didn't have the correct socket for the locknut. My F-150 has the hex like one, which is the same kind of nut on my uncles truck. However, mine didn't fit, it was too small. My dad's truck has the one with the 4 prongs on it, that aint it. My uncle went to autozone and it doesn't appear that they have one. What the heck is goin on? I know it's the hex like socket, but not sure what size.
I'm assuming you had the auto hubs with the 3 bolt holes in the cap. You're installing the spindle nut adaptor kit, right? I finished my swap yesterday afternoon. My hubs had the 5 bolt cap which didn't require the adaptor kit. If your dad's truck is a 150, the 4 prongs are a lock washer between the two nuts. the nuts are actually round with 4 square notches milled into it. A picture would help if it's convenient.
My uncle has the 3 screw auto hub, I got the conversion kit and hubs from Warn. My dad's is the same truck as my uncles, but my dads is an 88 vs a 96 and my dad's came with manual hubs stock. I can't find a socket that will fit my uncle's truck. I know it's the hex type one, it's not the 4 pronger like my dad's F-250. My F-150 has been changed to manual hubs, and it uses a hex locknut but it's not as big as the one on my uncle's truck, so my socket doesn't fit. The warn set seems to have the 4 prong locknut to go back on, which I have a socket for that. I just need the hex socket to get the old locknut off.
