4x4 conversion time. . .
Next to where i work there is an auto shop and there was this wrecked '80's F-150 4x4. It had been up there a couple days so i was going to go talk to the guy about possibly selling it, offering him about $250 for the truck (it's wrecked, had no plates, rusted out big time, obviously not in for repair). I was getting ready to walk over there this afternoon when he actually came into my shop and said, "hey, you drive that red pickup, right?" I say yes and he then proceeds to tell me that he picked this truck up at the impound lot and his boss almost fired him over it, so it had to go. He said he paid $100 for it, so if i gave him $100 it was mine. I said i'd need a closer look first, so we head over and check it out.
This truck is exactly what i've been looking for.
It has a 300, a t-18, NP 208 (only part that doesn't quite do it for me), a LS 9" out back, an LS 44 up front, manual hubs, 31" A/T's, everything. to top it all off it runs, goes into 4 wheel and drives
The only issue is that I have a feeling my old man is going to kill me when another vehicle shows up tomorrow, so this truck is getting completely parted out, cut up, and sent to the scrap heap by sun up Monday. Ahh, what a way to spend a sunday night. . .
