can anyone help decode this vin number?
F15JKV43956
Any help would be great. The title says it is a 1975 f-250. There is something about the dude I bought it from that is making me feel funny about the entire thing. Thank you.

F15 = F150 2WD Pickup / J = 460 4V / K = Kansas City MO Assembly Plant / V43956 = 1975.
If this was an F250 2WD Pickup, the first 3 digits of the VIN would be F25.
See if you can locate the frame VIN number. That's the one that's used for title purposes. It's stamped in two places on the frame. One visible, the other hidden. The visible VIN is stamped on the right top frame rail, in the engine compartment. It can be anywhere from the firewall to the radiator support but is most commonly found about inline with the alternator. The hidden VIN is also on the top right frame rail, up under the cab, usually about a foot or so behind the front cab mount.
I'm beginning to think what you have is pieces/parts from a number of trucks.
AKA a "Frankentruck". There's nothing really wrong with that so long as it's safe and dependable and the VIN numbers check out. Quite a few people (either knowingly or unknowingly) have one of these.
